Greek Embroidery

Etsy is my secret weapon — a treasure trove of global textiles and antiques. Traders from far corners of the world use it to connect with their customers, making it an incredible resource to people like me.

While traveling is where the real magic happens, my budget doesn't allow for sourcing trips right now, though I hope to in the future. I have a long list of family-run manufacturers specifically women and girl educational craft schools that I need to visit.

This month, my focus has been on the Greek Islands, renowned for their embroidered linens. I've been gathering lots of embroidery inspiration from these beautiful pieces, especially drawn to the simplicity of the natural fibers. They're perfect for reworking those café curtains everyone is obssessing about right now. (Oh, did I mention I make those curtains?). I’ll be posting more personal work regarding this soon.

The inspiration is summed up perfectly in this print designed by Lewis & Wood.
